View Nearby Notifications & Trigger Events

Nearby Notifications App Allows users to view relevant information around themselves via; Eddystone URL Beacons, Geofencing and also trigger events via NFC and QR-Codes.

WHAT ARE BEACONS

Beacons broadcast tiny radio signals that can trigger certain actions in a beacon-enabled app on a mobile device. Beacons use Bluetooth Low Energy to estimate if a mobile user is within the range of its signal.

WHAT ARE BEACONS USED FOR?

Beacons are one of the easiest ways to communicate with customers in a physical world. They trigger and deliver proximity campaigns to a person's phone based on his/hers location.

WHAT IS GEOFENCING

A Geofence is a virtual boundary for a real-world geographic area. In Nearby Notifications, a Geofence is generated as a radius around a store or point location. Customer receives a push notification on his mobile device as soon as he enters the defined radius. Customers who receive a Geofence notification are 2.7x more likely to use app than those who don't receive one.

HOW DOES GEOFENCING WORK?

Geofencing uses GPS as well as mobile network triangulation to determine user’s mobile device position and proximity to a set Geofence point. It allows to send push messages to users' smartphones when they enter a defined geographic area, such as a retail store, stadium, shopping mall etc.

WHAT IS AN NFC TAG?

NFC (Near-field communication) enables two devices, one of which is a smartphone and a second is called NFC tag, to establish communication by bringing them within 4 cm (1.6 in) of each other.

HOW ARE NFC TAGS USED?

NFC is often used for contactless payment, social networking, for sharing contacts, photos, videos or files. NFC-enabled devices can act as electronic identity documents and keycards.

WHAT IS A QR CODE?

A QR Code is a two-dimensional barcode consisting of a black and white pixel pattern which allows to encode up to a few hundred characters. Today’s smartphones and tablets are able to recognize and decode them exceptionally fast - it’s not surprising that QR stands for Quick Response.

HOW ARE QR CODES USED?

Due to the widespread use of smartphones, QR Codes are mostly used for mobile marketing purposes these days. Marketers benefit from QR Codes by being able to add digital content like websites, videos, PDFs, image galleries or contact details to printed media such as flyers, posters, catalogues and business cards.
